As soon as I arrived at my new house deep in the countryside in Andalucia, in the far south of Spain, I realised that in order to attract clients off the beaten track, I needed to offer more than a massage!
My dream was to create an idyllic day retreat, where people could escape, not just for a massage, but where they could totally switch off, swim and sunbathe, have a Jacuzzi and not immediately have to get back into their cars and get hot and bothered. I wanted to provide an “experience” and not just book an “appointment”.
Nearly two years in the making, finally the builders, plumbers, electricians and gardeners have packed up and gone and BodyZone is open for business and already attracting considerable interest as the first venue of its kind in this area.
The spa comprises an air-conditioned therapy room, a stunning shallow 12m saline pool, extensive sunbathing terracing with 12 comfortable loungers, a cool shaded porch, a luxurious 5 seater Jacuzzi, a shaded gazebo as well as changing and bathroom facilities.
In addition to the existing features, a sauna is due to be installed in Autumn 2008.

Massage is one of the oldest and most enduring therapies, and the perfect antidote to our stressful lives, promoting relaxation and a feeling of general well-being. It boosts the immune system, stimulates blood and lymph flow, soothes muscles and restores balance. It can help combat stress and tension by encouraging the body and muscles to relax.

AQUAROBICS: The pool was designed shallow throughout (1.30m average) for Aquarobics. No experience is needed and even non-swimmers can join in, as you are never out of your depth.
- Mondays and Thursdays at 10 a.m.
- Introductory class is free, thereafter €6 a class
- Stay on to swim or relax for a further hour
- Complementary soft drinks and biscuits

From ANTEQUERA/IZNAJAR: take A333 through Salinas, under 2 motorway bridges, along the Via de Servicios, through La Palma, and back under the motorway. * Follow the road signposted “Dehesa de los Montes” for approximately 6kms, passing various houses “Quinto Toro”, and “Antigua Tahona”. After passing a bus-stop you’ll see yellow/white gates on your right (Cortijo Garzon). Turn left at the next dirt-track and follow the blue/white “Z” signs. Turn right where the track divides (“Z” sign) and continue 300m bearing right till you see black metal gates below you. Press buzzer to enter.
FROM LOJA/GRANADA: follow A92 exit Jct 178 “La Palma”, down the sliproad off motorway. Turn right, follow the road signposted “Dehesa de los Montes” as above*.
